Reputable Chimney Inspection Options

Contact American Eagle 1 Chimney Service for prompt and reliable chimney inspections. We offer four fair and honest inspection options: Level I, Level II, Level III, and video. Set up an inspection today and enjoy reasonable rates from our very professional team!

Details of Each Chimney Inspection Level

Level I inspections are advised for chimneys in continuous use, under consistent conditions, and when used regularly with the same appliance. Readily accessible portions of the exterior, interior, and other appliance and chimney connection areas are inspected.

Level II inspections include all elements of Level I, plus accessible areas of the chimney exterior and interior. This includes attics, crawl spaces, and basements. Level II chimney inspections are necessary when changes are made to the system, including fuel type, relining of the flue, or replacing or adding an appliance of a different model, input rating, or efficiency category.

A Level II inspection is also necessary in case of a property sale or transfer of a property, after an operation malfunction, or following an external event that's caused damage. It covers proper clearances from combustibles in accessible locations. A Level II inspection features a visual inspection by video scanning or other means to check internal surfaces and joints of all flue liners incorporated within the chimney.

Level III chimney inspections feature all the steps and areas covered in Level I and II examinations, as well as – when necessary – the removal of various building components like the chimney crown and interior chimney wall. Removal is required when it's essential to access areas that are the subject of the inspection. A Level III inspection may be needed to diagnose the chimney system's condition if serious hazards are suspected.

Video camera inspections are beneficial because so much of the chimney is hidden from the naked eye. Inspections record in real-time, provide professional-grade surveillance images, and let our team assess problem areas thoroughly and quickly.
